Unique Features: This gym offers outdoor training programs and guided outdoor trips for both bouldering and ropes climbing. New York City is near several great outdoor climbing spots, such as the Powerlinez and The Gunks, so this is a huge plus for for climbers that are interested in learning more about outdoor climbing.

Personal Rating: I give this gym a V6 rating.

This gym has a great vibe, although it is slightly smaller than some gyms I’ve been to. The lead and ropes walls are impressive, and the bouldering area has a great selection of climbs, with some being more competition style. The shop in the front is large and offered a great selection of gear for both indoor and outdoor climbing. I love that there are outdoor climbing classes offered for both members and non-members, because it’s often hard for new climbers to get outdoor climbing experience.

Overall, this gym is great for climbers that are looking to begin climbing indoors and eventually transition to outdoor climbing. The gym has a chill, laid back vibe and the staff are wonderful.
